Chris will be performing an Arthur Russel tribute and supplying dance beats. Here is what she wrote for the event:“this saturday, pride night, we’re breaking out of our usual spot (al dios) and taking over AS220 in downtown providence!!! we aim to create an affirming, non-corporate party space for all queers - no cover, no sponsors, just pure queer power and celebration.

why are we doing this? 43 years ago, the stonewall riots set a tone of queer solidarity and revolution now largely absent in mainstream gay culture. we want to offer up a space for our queer friends and friends-to-be who feel left out of or at odds with the current politics of pride. everyone should be able to celebrate themselves on their own terms and in their own words and that’s what we want to see!”
